Pro Watercross News & Updates

LAKE CHARLES, La. (July 19, 2019)—Pro Watercross has moved its National Championships to Lake Charles, Louisiana, due to unforeseen circumstances. Yesterday, a contract was signed with Lake Charles to host the National Championships for the next three years. We apologize to those who have already put effort into travel to the former site at Bryan College Station, Texas.

The event date has not changed. The Pro Watercross National Championships will be held August 10-11. The Lake Charles area features white sandy beaches with plenty of parking, making it a racer-friendly location with an abundance of history, rich architecture and numerous hotels and casinos along with authentic eating establishments. There is a wide array of experiences to be had in the city before and after the races.

AJ Handler from Pro Watercross expresses his appreciation to Eric Zartler, sales director at the Lake Charles/Southwest Louisiana Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) and the CVB’s team for all the effort they put into make this transition happen in a timely manner.

“Lake Charles hosted the Pro Watercross group in 2013, and we feel honored to have been given this opportunity to further our relationship with the event for the next three years. The community enthusiastically supports sporting events in Southwest Louisiana, and we appreciate our relationship with the City of Lake Charles and the hospitality community in Calcasieu Parish. The community is ready to cheer on the competitors during the 2019 national championships,” said Zartler.
